Are you Dayex® or did you take them over?

In 2021 we brought together our two care home furniture brands, Edison & Day® and Dayex®, in a rebranding exercise we went through. Since becoming the one brand, Edison & Day®, we often get asked, what has happened to Dayex® and are you still the same people?

In short, Dayex® hasn’t gone anywhere and it’s still the same people as it used to be, we have just brought our two separate brands together under the one brand Edison & Day®.

The history

For the past decade or so, Edison & Day® and Dayex® were operating as two separate brands, each with its own website and each operating in slightly different ways but both being run by the same team of people.

Edison & Day® typically looked after the bigger care home refurbishment projects and the new builds and as a manufacturer was able to offer an almost endless list of customisations available. Dayex® on the other hand looked after the care homes that had a lounge, dining room or bedroom that needed refurbishing quickly to ensure they could keep occupancy as high as possible.

All the Dayex® furniture was still manufactured in the same factories as the Edison & Day® products, but the options available were much more limited which enabled us to deliver much quicker.

The journey

During 2020 we started on our rebrand journey following some valuable insights we got from our customers. We learnt that many customers were getting confused about the relationship between our two brands and how they differed from each other. After many more discussions with our customers we made the decision to bring our two brands under one roof, Edison & Day®.

This move enabled us to combine the USPs of both brands to allow us to have a much wider product offering, especially for the Dayex® products. We were able to bring together the customisation that was available at Edison & Day® and pair it with the speed of Dayex®.

In October 2021 we then launched our new branding and our new, much-improved website to our customers, and we have continued to evolve ever since. With new products being added to our website every single month and new, updated features being added to make our customer's lives just that little bit easier.

So is Dayex® still the same fast delivery furniture company?

Yes, Dayex® is the fast delivery service of Edison & Day® delivering high-quality furniture and soft furnishings in 5 working days. The only thing that has changed is the branding and the expanded range of products that are available.
